Awesome job last week doing the first Open WOD! I know the WOD itself looked extremely daunting, but once you did it, you know that you were all surprised at what you were able to do under that amount of pressure. For that, you each deserve a pat on the back for your amazing efforts. I’m so glad that you as a group, collectively decided to do the Open WODS to challenge yourselves.

Here’s to creating better versions of ourselves!

Unlike other conventional gym settings, the CrossFit lifestyle/setting provides its members with several different opportunities that you would never find at a “normal” gym. While burpees, box jumps, Tabatas etc. are just the icing on the cake, CrossFit is the stimulus that creates an overall better person.  People from all walks of life participate in this phenomenon to not only become faster, better, stronger and  healthier people, but also something that rivals every other fitness arena – the community.  If you ask people why they joined CrossFit some people will answer, “I love getting my ass kicked”, and then you will have that extremely honest response, “the support of the community.”

As they say, “People who CrossFit together, stay together!” Not only have you come together as a team of CH Reynolds co-workers, but you also have unified yourselves as a team of CrossFitters. You are prime examples of what it means to have each other’s back.

I found an interesting video about CrossFit on YouTube for you to watch when you have a chance.

  • 20 Walking Lunges w/ Weight

The Merriam-Websters dictionary defines purpose as, “something set up as an object or end to be attained, or an intention.” Like the definition states, while goals may be are often times “under construction” and constantly being revamped, it is important for your purpose in life remains clear.

I’ve been given the amazing opportunity to not only work with, but also befriend an amazing group of individuals at CH Reynolds. It’s apparent to me that they have defined their purposes to not only obtain a healthier lifestyle, but also commit themselves to achieve this purpose by incorporating the CrossFit program into their daily regimen. While each day proposes a new challenge for them, their can-do, “non-negotiating”, and dedicated personas is what helps them overcome each one. You and I both know that one of the best feelings in the world after hearing “3-2-1… Time!” is the feeling of pure satisfaction, despite how exhausting and emotionally draining the WOD was.

Regardless of the goals that you all have set for yourselves, continue to do as you do each and everyday, and know that we are all works in progress and definitely stronger and healthier people than we were yesterday. Know that your commitment to the CrossFit regimen, is what will help you get you where you need to be healthwise.
